Please find below the current active outbreaks worldwide that require your attention, particularly if you are planning to travel to any of these destinations, or reside in these areas. Appropriate precautionary measures are highly recommended by FEMERAID International Team. 

Congo (DRC): Cholera outbreak, select safe food and water, consider vaccination. Measles outbreak in Kasai-Oriental province, ensure vaccination is up to date. Meningococcal meningitis in Kongo Central province, vaccination recommended, seek medical attention if symptoms appear. 

Liberia: Increase in measles, ensure vaccination is up to date 

Madagascar: Mpox outbreak, avoid contact with sick people Mayotte (France): Chikungunya outbreak, avoid mosquito bites 

Mozambique: Cholera outbreak in Nampula and Tete provinces, select safe food and water, consider vaccination. Increase in malaria, avoid mosquito bites and consider preventive medication. 

Namibia: Cholera outbreak in Grootfontein district, select safe food and water 

Nigeria: Lassa fever, maintain strict hygiene measures and avoid contact with sick people 

Seychelles: Increasing chikungunya, avoid mosquito bites 

Somalia: Dengue infections increasing in Somaliland, avoid mosquito bites. Ongoing diphtheria outbreak, ensure vaccination is up to date. 

Sudan: Ongoing dengue activity, avoid mosquito bites 

Polio confirmed in Centrale region, booster recommended, carry proof of vaccination 

Zimbabwe: Cholera in Mashonaland Central province, select safe food and water, consider vaccination 

Anguilla (UK): First West Nile fever infection reported; avoid mosquito bites 

Argentina: Risk of chikungunya in northern provinces, avoid mosquito bites Bolivia: Chikungunya in several departments, avoid mosquito bites 

Ongoing measles activity, ensure vaccination is up to date 

Colombia: Yellow fever in Tolima department, vaccination recommended, avoid mosquito bites 

Cuba: Limited healthcare services, shortages of medicines and safe water, defer non-essential travel 

French Guiana (France): Chikungunya outbreak, avoid mosquito bites 

Guatemala: Ongoing measles activity, ensure vaccination is up to date Honduras: Increase in pertussis, check vaccination status 

Mexico: Increase in rickettsiosis in northern states, prevent tick bites Peru: Increased risk of leptospirosis, avoid contact with contaminated water 

Suriname: Chikungunya, avoid mosquito bites United States of America: Ongoing measles outbreak in Arizona and Utah states, check vaccination status Venezuela: Yellow fever activity in several states, vaccination recommended, avoid mosquito bites

American Samoa (US): Leptospirosis outbreak, avoid contact with contaminated water 

Australia: Diphtheria outbreak in Northern Territory, ensure vaccination is up to date. Increase in measles in New South Wales, ensure vaccination is up to date. Legionnaires’ disease in Melbourne suburbs, seek medical attention if symptoms develop. Risk of Japanese encephalitis in western Riverina region (New South Wales state), avoid mosquito bites, consider vaccination. 

Bangladesh: Increase in measles, ensure vaccination is up to date Cambodia: Human bird flu infections in several provinces, avoid contact with birds, follow hygiene measures. Ongoing dengue activity, avoid mosquito bites. 

China: Bird flu infections in several areas, avoid contact with birds, follow hygiene measures 

East Timor: Increase in dengue, avoid mosquito bites 

Japan: Increase in measles in several prefectures, ensure vaccination is up to date 

Kiribati: Increase in rotavirus infections, maintain hygiene, select safe food and water 

Malaysia: Tuberculosis outbreak in Kota Tinggi, avoid contact with sick people, seek medical care if exposed 

Maldives: Increase in dengue, avoid mosquito bites 

New Caledonia (France): Increase in dengue, avoid mosquito bites Papua 

New Guinea: Possible seawater contamination in parts of New Ireland province, avoid eating contaminated seafood and contact with affected water 

Vanuatu: Increased risk of ciguatera fish poisoning, avoid eating reef fish 

Vietnam: Increasing hand, foot and mouth disease in Ho Chi Minh City, pay attention to hygiene 

Czech Republic: Ongoing hepatitis A transmission, vaccination recommended, pay attention to hygiene 

France: Manche department: Single invasive meningococcal infection in La Hague, follow routine hygiene 

Italy: Increase in hepatitis A in Campania region, check vaccination status, select safe food. Increase in measles, ensure vaccination is up to date. 

Latvia: Measles outbreak, ensure vaccination is up to date 

United Kingdom: Invasive meningococcal disease identified in Kent county, seek medical attention if symptoms develop. Measles outbreak in north London, ensure vaccination is up to date. Poliovirus detected in a wastewater sample, ensure vaccination is up to date.
