Several African nations are currently experiencing significant viral outbreaks, posing substantial public health risks to both residents and travelers. FEMERAID Air Rescue Team and General Secretary Office are actively monitoring the following outbreaks:
Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC): Authorities are investigating 12 suspected cases of Ebola in Equateur Province.
Tanzania: A confirmed Marburg virus outbreak has been reported in Kagera region. Marburg virus, which is closely related to Ebola, is highly infectious and often causes death.
Uganda: An ongoing Ebola outbreak has been identified in the capital city of Kampala, with multiple confirmed cases.
Central African Republic: A Rift Valley Fever outbreak has been confirmed.
Given the high contagiousness of these diseases and the lack of widely available vaccines or treatments for some of them, non-essential travel to affected areas is strongly discouraged. Travelers should remain vigilant, adhere to the strict hygiene measures and follow official health advice from FEMERAID International, Medilink International ,WHO and CDC. Be safe out there ...
