FEMERAID is closely monitoring the various outbreaks around the world. Please take the necessary precautions to protect yourself and your family. 

Most of the diseases listed can be prevented through vaccination and practising good hygiene habits. 

Burkina Faso: Increase in dengue infections, avoid mosquito bites 

Chad: Hepatitis E outbreak, select safe food and water 

Côte d'Ivoire: Mpox outbreak, avoid contact with sick people and animals 

Ethiopia: Malaria outbreak, avoid mosquito bites, consider preventive medication. Polio detected in multiple states; booster recommended, carry proof of vaccination. 

Liberia: Polio in Sinoe county, booster recommended, carry proof of vaccination 

Mali: Ongoing dengue outbreak, avoid mosquito bites 

Nigeria: Cholera outbreak, ensure safe food and water consumption 

Rwanda: Mpox outbreak, avoid contact with sick people 

Togo: Increase in dengue infections, avoid mosquito bites 

Uganda: Measles outbreak, ensure vaccination is up to date 

Brazil: Outbreak of Oropouche, avoid insect bites 

Canada: Legionnaires' disease in London (Ontario province), seek medical attention if symptoms develop 

Colombia: Water shortage in multiple departments, conserve and store water 

Costa Rica: Increase in diarrheal infections, select safe food and water, consider vaccination El Salvador: Rise in dengue activity, avoid mosquito bites 

Guadeloupe (France): Human West Nile virus infection reported, avoid mosquito bites Mexico: Ongoing dengue outbreak, avoid mosquito bites 

Panama: Increasing dengue activity, avoid mosquito bites 

Puerto Rico (US): Increase in dengue infections, avoid mosquito bites St Vincent and the Grenadines: Dengue outbreak, avoid mosquito bites 

Trinidad and Tobago: Increase in dengue fever, avoid mosquitoes 

United States: Eastern equine encephalitis, avoid mosquito bites. Listeriosis outbreak linked to deli meats, pay attention to hygiene and select safe food. 

Afghanistan: Increase in cholera infections, ensure safe food and water consumption, consider vaccination. Increase in measles, ensure vaccination is up to date. 

Australia: Pertussis outbreak, ensure vaccination is up to date 

French Polynesia (France): Pertussis in Tahiti and Moorea, check vaccination status 

India: Chandipura virus outbreak, avoid sandfly bites. Increasing dengue infections, avoid mosquito bites. 

Japan: Increase in streptococcal infections, pay attention to personal hygiene. Increased heat, minimise exposure, stay hydrated. 

Kiribati: Increase in typhoid fever infections; maintain hygiene, consider vaccination 

Malaysia: Increase in dengue infections, avoid mosquito bites 

Maldives: Increase in dengue infections, avoid mosquito bites 

Myanmar: Increase in cholera, ensure safe food and water consumption, consider vaccination 

New Zealand: Increasing pertussis, check vaccination status 

Pakistan: Increase in measles, ensure vaccination is up to date 

Philippines: Increased dengue activity, avoid mosquito bites 

South Korea: Increased heat, minimise exposure, stay hydrated. Rise in hand, foot and mouth disease infections, pay attention to hygiene. 

Taiwan (China): Increasing pertussis, check vaccination status 

Thailand: Imported Mpox infection, monitor developments 

Vietnam: Diphtheria infections in several provinces, ensure vaccination is up to date. Increase in measles, ensure vaccination is up-to-date. 

Armenia: Increase in West Nile virus, avoid mosquito bites 

Finland: Increase in pertussis, check vaccination status 

France: Increase in enterovirus infections, follow routine hygiene measures. Increase in pertussis, ensure vaccination is up to date. 

Greece: Increase in West Nile Virus, avoid mosquito bites 

Norway: Increase in Mycoplasma pneumoniae infections, follow hygiene measures 

Portugal: Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever detected, avoid tick bites, follow hygiene measures 

Sweden: Increase in pertussis infections, check vaccination status United Kingdom: Increase in measles, ensure vaccination is up to date

Iran: Increase dengue infections in Hormozgan province, avoid mosquito bites 

Yemen: Cholera outbreak, ensure safe food and water consumption, consider vaccination 

Stay Informed: Keep yourself updated about the local health situation in the regions you plan to visit. 

Preventive Measures: Follow local health authorities’ recommended preventive measures to reduce the risk of infection. 

Seek Medical Attention: If you experience any symptoms related to the above diseases, seek medical attention immediately. 

Prioritize Personal Health: Adhere to vaccination schedules to ensure you have adequate protection against prevalent diseases. 

Mosquito Bite Prevention: Take necessary precautions, especially measures to prevent mosquito bites. Use insect repellent, wear long-sleeved clothing and stay in well-screened accommodations.
