Snippet from FEMERAID International Air Rescue as of 29 April 2024
The Air Rescue Team of FEMERAID International informs all our members, Knights and Dames of the Sovereign Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Knights of Malta, Federation of the Autonomous Priories (KMFAP) about the followings:

Medical professionals created several acronyms to teach the public what to do in an emergency. FAST is a good example as it has long been used as the standard for identifying stroke symptoms.

The acronym BE – FAST is now used due to its more inclusive list:
B -- off balance, staggering or having leg weakness
E -- blurred or lost vision in one or both eyes
F -- face drooping (ask the person to smile to check)
A -- arm weakness (have the person raise both arms to check)
S -- speech difficulty (have the person repeat a simple sentence to check)
T -- time to call emergency services

BE FAST, the clock doesn’t stop!
