The last few weeks have been very busy in terms of new outbreaks of contagious diseases around the world – from a rare type of Ebola in Uganda, to Measles in Zimbabwe that killed more than 700 children, to Cholera in Syria, and many other diseases whilst Covid-19 and Monkeypox continue to circulate freely around us.

There are few explanations for many outbreaks occurring at the same time – the demographic pressure, global warming and high mobility between all continents that allow a rapid spread of viruses and of new variants. It is fundamental to maintain high alert levels and to continue reducing the social exposure.
