Communiqué from the Grand Master and Head of the State
of the Federation (KMFAP) about the
WORLD HUMANITARIAN DAY

The General Assembly of the United Nations has designated the 19th of August as the World Humanitarian Day, in a remarkable effort to increase the public awareness of the Humanitarian Work all over the World.

In fact there is no better example of true nobility of character and soul than the example given by all the volunteers and humanitarian workers, who leave behind the comfort of their homes and the love of their families to go to dangerous places, of Disease and of War, to serve, to help and to assist those ill, wounded and in need. They are the true Knights of the XXI. Century.

Unfortunately it is frequent to see the volunteers and the humanitarian workers becoming victims themselves, and more than one thousand have already lost their lives serving their fellow men, as it is the recent case of missionaries who died victims of the Ebola outbreak in Africa. These are the recent martyrs and as such must be respected and remembered.

Today is the Day of all of those, who dedicate their life to the life of others, so it is also the day of Our Sovereign Order and State and of all our Knights and Dames, because the Humanitarian and Hospitaller service has been our reason of existence for almost 1000 years.

Very active in 4 continents, our FEMERAID INTERNATIONAL is the institution of Knights of Malta (KMFAP) dedicated exclusively to the Humanitarian and Hospitaller work and many lives have been saved due to its action, therefore no better day than today to officially announce that our FEMERAID AFRICA, in view of the present outbreak of Ebola, and also due to frequent outbreaks of other viral threats, has bought 3 (three) Mobile Isolation Units to transport and evacuate victims who need isolation measures. The factory will soon deliver these units, ready for service.

May the noble example of all those, who dedicate their lives to the Humanitarian work enlighten the World Leaders and guide their steps towards Peace.

His Most Eminent Highness Prince Jose
Grand Master and Head of the State
