Communiqué on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Central African Republic ( C.A.R. ) and the Sovereign Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Knights of Malta, Federation of the Autonomous Priories (KMFAP)

The Government of the Sovereign Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Knights of Malta, Federation of the Autonomous Priories, and the Government of the Central African Republic have officially decided to establish diplomatic relations as from 27th March, 2009.

The Government of KMFAP firmly supports the Government of Central African Republic in its just cause of safeguarding national independence and developing the national economy, since the Central African Republic was considered in 2001 by the magazine The Ecologist, the Worlds leading country in Sustainable Development.

The two Governments have agreed to develop friendly relations and cooperation between the two States on the basis of the universal principles of international law and the UN Charter.

The decision to establish relations was made out of a mutual desire to develop and strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two states.

The practical aspects of this decision, including the appointment of ambassadors and cooperation between KMFAP and C.A.R. to promote peace and understanding between their people, will be discussed through diplomatic channels.

The Magisterial See further announces that, by official invitation of H.E. the President of the Central African Republic, General of the Army François Bozizé, a high level delegation of KMFAP - led by H.E. the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation - will be visiting the C.A.R. in a very near future.
